MRI Evaluation in Acute Spinal Trauma in Tertiary Center of Nepal

IntroductionSpine injury is one of the leading caused for disability in Nepal. Patients with trauma relatedspine leads to neurological dysfunction, focal deficits and even fatal life threating events.The timely intervention acute spinal could save patients from andmortality risk. Imaging modalities like Xray, CT Scan MRI helps diagnosis managementof trauma. plays crucial role detection cord soft tissue injuries. It issuperior than scan evaluation injuries, ligament, issue structures, disc,and occult osseous The objective this research evaluate traumain tertiary center MethodsThis descriptive hospital based observational study those who were admitted andreferred injury. Data analysed by SPSS 2022. ResultsAcute most common male ratio 1.7 mean±SD age was foundto be 50.98±19.26 years. Most mode fall (76%). spinalregion involved lumbar (42%) followed thoracic (36%), dorso-lumbar (14%) cervical(8%) region respectively. Spinal contusion edema, disc rupture, paravertebral collectionand ligament seen. type fractures simple compression fracture(72%), burst fracture (16%), both (6%) listhesis sub/dislocations (6%). Spinalcord seen 22%, collection ligamentinjury.
